If you sign up to volunteer, you need to be there! If you have a conflict, please notify the liaison ASAP.
Boys must complete 10 hours of service and parents 5 hours during the academic school year. Volunteer opportunities are winding down for the school year. Be sure to sign up for one of the many offered in this blast if you haven’t met your hour requirement.
CAROLINE HOUSE AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING

Summary: Summer tutoring for children in 1st-7th grade in reading and math. In addition to volunteer tutors, we are in need of several adults to help in each of the classrooms.

GILLESPIE CENTER LUNCH
Location: 45 Jesup Rd Westport
When: July 22, 29
August 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27
Hours of Event: 11:45am – 1pm
Credit Hours: 3 hours
Number of Boys: At least one family or up to 3 boys with 1 parent
Summary: Provide and serve a hot lunch to 25-30 people.
You would be expected to arrive at 11:45 to set up your prepared food in the kitchen and serve it to the clients from 12:00-1:00. You can cook the meal yourself, or buy it if you prefer. This service is greatly appreciated by the clients at the Gillespie Center and Homes with Hope.

PERSON-TO-PERSON FOOD PANTRY
Location: 76 South Main Street, Norwalk
When : Tuesdays: July 25, August 1
Thursdays: July 27, August 3
Fridays: July 28, August 4
Hours of Event: 9:00am – 12:30pm (most likely finished by noon)
Number of Boys: 8 (boys only, no parents)
Summary: Person-to-Person provides a variety of services for low income residents of Norwalk. The food pantry provides a week’s worth of groceries to families. SLOBs will stock the store shelves and help the customers shop as well as check them into the store computer system.

WAKEMAN TOWN FARM FAMILY FUN DAY
Location: 134 Cross Highway, Westport
When: Saturday, July 15th
Hours of Event : 1st shift 9am-11am
2nd shift 11am-1pm
3rd shift 1pm-3pm
4th shift 3pm-4:30pm
Summary: A day at the farm filled with lots of fun activities for the whole family to help educate the community about local healthy food production, responsible land stewardship and sustainability. Volunteer jobs include set up, clean up, grill, animal care, and helping with the fun activities.

WESTPORT LIBRARY SUMMER BOOK SALE

When: July 15-18th (Set Up: July 10-14)

Summary: Big summer book sale event at the Westport Public Library. Set up for the sale, help out during the sale or clean up after the sale … or sign up for ALL! Be a part of the big community event !!!

WESTPORT FINE ARTS FESTIVAL

Summary: Boys will be asked to help artists set up on July 14 and 15 and to help them tear down on the 16. Volunteers should ask for Jacqui Bidgood when arriving at the site.
