JANUARY MEETING DONATION DRIVE – Books2Connect and Person to Person food pantry
Books2Connect is a not-for-profit organization that distributes books to organizations such as schools, shelters, and boys and girls clubs in the Fairfield County area in underserved communities. The books are given to children to start their own home libraries to promote literacy. The most useful age range is from kindergarten through middle school. The books need to be gently used, in good enough condition that someone would feel proud to receive them as a gift (i.e. no tears, dog-eared pages, writing/scribble marks, stickers or broken bindings).
Person to Person is a food pantry located in Norwalk, CT whose purpose is to distribute food to people in need of groceries for their week. People may stop in and receive up to 10 items of their choosing to fulfill their needs. This month, the pantry is hosting an event titled “SouperBowl!” They have asked that the SLOBs donate cans of soup (any kind) in order to help their cause.
Members will receive ½ hour credit for any donation made. If you have questions, or have items to donate but are unable to bring to the meeting, please contact Henry Haas, email@example.com or Merideth Haas, firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you in advance for your donations!
2019 Basketball Fundraiser
The SLOBS of Westport did an amazing job with their fundraising event. Presenting us with a check in the amount of $1,000 is really incredible. FCA will use the money in the area (program) that needs it the most. We truly appreciate the effort put into this event and the support to our agency.
Our mission is building better lives and strengthening our community by providing essential human services to children, families, adults and seniors. Your donation today is going to help build a better life for someone.
We look forward to a continued relationship with the SLOBS of Westport.
